I’ve been gone for a little while. It happened. I have a baby! Miss Amelia Mae Everly came into this world on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 8:43pm. She weighed 8 pounds, 3.4 ounces. She might’ve weighed a little less had she been born as planned (via the va-jay-jay), but after a day of labor with not much progress, I had a c-section delivery.
Comparing Amelia today to what she looked like the night she was born, it’s crazy to see how swollen she was. The swelling has gone away and her cone head (from unsuccessfully trying to make her way south while I was in labor) is pretty much gone, too. There’s just a sweet little head with some darkish and lightish blonde hair on it.
We. Are. In. Love.
I’ve never experienced the emotions I’ve felt over the past few days. Utter joy and bewilderment that we created something so amazing and precious. How is this even possible?
I have so much to share, but I need to get some rest since, well, I’m a new mom running on fumes right now. Can’t wait to write about this journey!
